Yamirka Marmolejos began her creative grooming journey five years ago with a spontaneous challenge—being asked to apply a tri-color design on a Maltese for the very first time. Despite never having colored a dog before, she stepped in with courage and curiosity, and from that moment, she was hooked. What started as a last-minute favor quickly turned into a passionate career defined by color, imagination, and transformation.

Just one year later, Yamirka launched her own business, Red Carpet Grooming for Dog, where she boldly offered creative grooming services from day one. Despite the lingering skepticism around pet coloring, she embraced the art form and proudly showcased her work on social media, quickly gaining traction and building a loyal client base. In 2021, she began experimenting with more advanced techniques—introducing 3D designs to her repertoire and pushing creative boundaries on both long and short coats.

Although Puerto Rico lacks in-person creative grooming competitions, Yamirka found her way into international contests, first through online platforms and eventually making her mark on the global stage. Her bold leap into international competition came in 2024 when she traveled to Las Vegas to compete at Super Zoo, where she earned 2nd place in Creative Grooming.

With titles like 1st Place in Costa Rica’s Halloween Contest (2022) and Best International Groomer (2022) to her name, Yamirka continues to evolve as an artist. Her ambition now lies in traveling the world to compete and connect with other creatives, always striving to learn, share, and elevate the art of grooming.
