Blaze Schoen is a creative grooming artist and mobile salon owner based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Known for their thoughtful approach to color work and commitment to pet comfort, Blaze combines artistry with technique to deliver imaginative grooming experiences both on stage and in everyday salon settings.
Their introduction to creative grooming began in 2018 at their first grooming convention, where a single encounter with the creative stage sparked a personal goal: to one day compete among the best. That moment came in 2020 at a competition in Atlanta, where Blaze, despite the sudden disruption of a COVID-related shutdown, stepped into the ring with determination and a freshly prepped poodle named Kilala. The experience sealed their passion for creative grooming—and fueled a desire to keep growing.
Blaze has since competed in various categories from abstract design to salon freestyle, but creative grooming remains at the core of their artistic identity. Their work is known for merging client vision with technical execution, always with an emphasis on the pet's safety and comfort. Certifications in Pet Safety and First Aid, Skin and Coat Therapy, and Salon Sanitation reflect a deep commitment to professional standards.
In 2021, Blaze launched Grooms by Blaze, a mobile grooming business that brought their creative work directly into clients' driveways. This shift expanded their understanding of how creative styling can adapt across different environments—and proved that artistic grooming can thrive outside of the traditional salon setting.
