Jaclyn started painting her poodle's nails about two years ago as a way to help desensitize her to having her paws handled during grooming. What began as a simple training exercise quickly became an incredible creative outlet.
Having always enjoyed crafting, design, and nail art, Jaclyn found the perfect way to combine those passions with working with dogs. She has loved the journey of learning new techniques, challenging herself with fresh designs, and developing the patience that creative work requires.
Working on such a small scale with a client who can't verbally communicate has taught Jaclyn a great deal about canine communication. She has learned that patience, practice, and trust are the foundation for creating beautiful nail art while ensuring the experience remains positive for the dog.
Completely self-taught, Jaclyn enjoys experimenting with new ideas and techniques. She often draws inspiration from her own nail art, current trends, traditional grooming, and creative grooming. If a design doesn't work the first time, she simply tries again, explores a different method, or experiments with new colour combinations. For Jaclyn, every attempt is an opportunity to learn and grow.
Jaclyn works exclusively with non-toxic, water-based pens that are safe for both pets and children. Her ever-growing collection includes more than 100 pens, over 200 sheets of nail stickers, multiple nail files, a nail grinder, and a variety of other tools. She loves discovering new colours, refining her techniques, and continuing to push the creative possibilities of canine nail art.
