Based in the lakeside city of St. Joseph, Michigan, Jolene Jipping is a creative grooming artist whose journey reflects both courage and transformation. A longtime admirer of the vibrant creative classes at grooming expos, Jolene once watched from the audience, quietly aspiring to one day be good enough to take the stage herself. That moment came when she welcomed Navi, a white standard poodle who would become her muse and catalyst for artistic exploration.
Determined to build her skills, Jolene immersed herself in every creative grooming course she could find—at trade shows and beyond. With Navi by her side, she began experimenting with temporary dyes, exploring bold ideas and playful themes. Two years later, she stepped into the competition ring for the first time—a powerful and emotional experience marked by self-doubt, tears, and the encouragement of fellow artists. That moment, she says, changed everything.
Today, Jolene channels her creativity through both her competitive work and her professional salon, Sudzy Puppy Grooming Salon LLC, where her day-to-day grooming is elevated by the artistic techniques she continues to refine. Her signature style centers on self-expression, joy, and storytelling—and each design is a tribute to the growth she’s achieved through art.
While her dream of gracing the cover of Groomer to Groomer remains, Jolene finds fulfillment in sharing her work, exchanging ideas, and forming lasting friendships within the creative grooming community. Her story is a reminder that the greatest obstacle is often ourselves—and the greatest reward, pushing past it.
