Julie Draper
American Chapter
Creative Groomer
Julie has been passionate about grooming since the beginning of 2021. For her, this career is the perfect combination of creativity, skill, and the joy of helping pets look and feel their best. She considers herself incredibly lucky to have found a job she truly loves—one that allows her to express her artistic side while working with animals. One of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing the excitement and happiness on pet owners’ faces when they witness the transformation of their dogs. Julie finds it remarkable how much a groom can change a dog’s appearance and personality, and she loves being part of that process.
Grooming is not just about beautifying dogs for Julie; it is also a daily creative challenge. After her third year as a groomer, she welcomed her first standard poodle—a turning point in her work. That dog gave her the opportunity to experiment with new styles and techniques, helping her discover skills she hadn’t realized she possessed. Working with standard poodles has pushed Julie to refine her abilities, and she is excited for what lies ahead. With her upcoming poodle, she plans to enter grooming competitions—a goal that will allow her to showcase her skills, learn from other talented groomers, and continue growing as a professional.
In addition to competing, Julie is working toward her dream of opening her own grooming salon. She gains valuable experience both under mentorship and by grooming dogs from her home, building her technical skills and understanding the business side of the industry. For Julie, grooming has become more than a job—it is a passion and a lifelong journey that she pursues with dedication, creativity, and joy every day.
As a proud member of the GCGA USA Chapter, Julie continues to advance her skills, connect with fellow creative groomers, and contribute to the growth of the grooming community. She is committed to inspiring others through her work, sharing knowledge, and celebrating the artistry and innovation that define modern creative grooming.
