American Chapter
Creative Groomer
Scott Blackburn’s creative grooming journey began not with clippers in hand, but as a supportive husband attending a charity grooming event nearly a decade ago. Watching his wife Michelle in action inspired him to take a more active role, and after years of cheering from the sidelines, the two entered the ring together—kicking off a team effort that has grown into a shared passion and artistic partnership.
Their debut as a team revealed the power of collaboration and the importance of critique. After showcasing their “Inside Out” design at a local event judged by seasoned creatives Cindy Oliver and Sandy Blackburn, Scott and Michelle committed to refining their craft. Encouraged by conversations with fellow groomers at PetQuest, they entered the competitive circuit through Barkleigh shows and quickly gained traction—earning the “Up and Comer” title at Windy City, placing 3rd at PetQuest, and earning 2nd at All American.
For Scott, creative grooming is more than a competitive outlet—it’s a family affair. Working alongside Michelle and involving their children, he’s found a fulfilling blend of artistry, learning, and joy. His approach emphasizes teamwork, openness to feedback, and the value of community, all while celebrating the deep bonds we share with our animals.
As a proud member of the GCGA USA Chapter, Scott Blackburn represents the heart of creative grooming—where family, fun, and continuous growth come together in vibrant expression.
