Shelby L. Grillo is a passionate and purpose-driven groomer based in Wantagh, New York, whose love for animals has shaped every chapter of her journey. Her career began unexpectedly in 2013 when a simple kitchen-scissor haircut on her dog, Capone, sparked a lifelong calling. Though originally pursuing a future in law after working in the education division at the North Carolina Zoo, Shelby quickly discovered that her heart belonged in the grooming world.
Starting out as a bather, she worked her way up to becoming a full-time groomer and eventually opened her own salon, @poshpawsli. Shelby leads her team with compassion and integrity, ensuring every pet that walks through their doors receives the love and care she would give to her own. Her grooming philosophy is rooted in empathy and community connection, guided by the belief that animals offer a universal language of love.
Shelby sees grooming as more than a career, it’s a lifelong opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of pets and their people. As the industry evolves, she remains dedicated to building a space that celebrates creativity, emotional connection, and professionalism.
