GotM September: Cecilia Clare Schalken

GCGA is thrilled to announce Cecilia Clare Schalken as our Groom of the Month for September 2025 ~ and what a joyful, heart-filled creation it was! Inspired by the beloved Disney classic Lilo & Stitch, Cecilia transformed her poodle, Caspian, into a living work of art that radiated color, nostalgia, and pure island magic.

 

Unveiled at The Pup Cup, her piece immediately captivated audiences. Dressed as Lilo herself, Cecilia brought Stitch to life through striking shades of electric blue, detailed facial artistry, and playful touches that perfectly captured the character’s mischievous charm. Every hue, texture, and transition was executed with precision, reflecting her extraordinary control of color and technique.

 

But beyond its stunning presentation, this groom told a deeper story, one of family, connection, and joy. As the saying goes, “Ohana means family,” and Cecilia’s work beautifully echoed that sentiment. Through her artistry, she reminded the creative grooming world that we are all part of a community that uplifts, celebrates individuality, and finds belonging through creativity.

 

Her dedication to balance, color harmony, and pet comfort exemplifies the GCGA commitment to education, artistry, and ethical standards. Cecilia’s Lilo & Stitch went on to win 1st Place and Best in Group at The Pup Cup, earning well-deserved applause from peers and spectators alike.

 

As Groom of the Month, Cecilia receives a GCGA commemorative plaque, embroidered patch, and a curated artist gift set, recognizing her contribution to raising the global standard of creative grooming excellence.
